A measured renovation that celebrates the building's existing architecture while introducing a more flexible, contemporary and hospitality-driven dining experience.
Architecture first.
The building already offered strong qualities: exposed concrete columns, expansive glazing, abundant daylight and an open plan.
The design response works with those strengths, layering in curved marketplace stations, warm wood, brushed metal, flexible furniture and restrained architectural lighting rather than competing with the original structure.
Marketplace planning
Curved serving islands soften circulation and keep food presentation at the center of the experience while maintaining visual connection to the surrounding dining room.
Daylight + community
Varied seating and generous windows keep the commons connected to the surrounding campus and allow the room to support much more than scheduled meal periods.
