← Selected WorkIndependent School · Dining Commons + Campus Café
Charlotte Christian School
Transforming an aging cafeteria into a hospitality-inspired campus destination with a marketplace servery, flexible commons and Campus Cup café.
From cafeteria to community hub.
The design reimagined the everyday school dining experience as a place for gathering, studying and connection throughout the day.
Warm wood, crisp white surfaces, layered blues and varied seating environments create a contemporary setting that remains durable, approachable and distinctly connected to the school.
Before
The original environment was functional but visually dated, with strong lime and aqua accents, decorative soffits, fluorescent lighting and limited seating variety.

Planning
The floor plan shows the relationship between the kitchen, self-service servery, dining commons and dedicated coffee shop—turning multiple functions into one connected campus experience.

Vision
The concept was developed through finish studies and renderings so the client could see the relationship between material palette, lighting, furniture and foodservice planning before construction.

Built result
The completed project stays remarkably faithful to the concept: a brighter marketplace servery, flexible dining neighborhoods and a hospitality-driven campus café.
